Putting it into perspective
Thank you for all of the warm words of congratulations and thanks to Lora for completing and posting the video for me. I am eating like a champ and loving every second of it! Within 20 minutes of delivery I devoured a chunk of cake slathered in chocolate icing and a huge glass of water! I seem to have some emotional residue with the HG stuff that I will detail in a post very soon, but expect the birth story first. I'm finishing it up during these late night nursing marathons and hope to have it done shortly. Without further adieu...I present one of Himself's favorite photos...he has dubbed it "Perspective". I will say that its amazing what the body can endure and still turn out something this amazing. Now if we could just figure out where the strawberry blonde hair came from...

It certainly is amazing. I look everyday at Katie and think the same thing. The hell of IF, miscarriages and HG are bittersweet when I look at that beautiful face. It's something that I will never, ever be able to forget and it sometimes still makes me angry that I had to endure so much, but it is very much worth it in the end. I would do it all over again to have her here. And I'm sure you feel the same about LC.
Congrats again. She is beautiful.

I look forward to your HG posts and the birth posts. That baby is damn cute and sooo light. Congrats again! It always amazes me that lots of blogs I have followed now have babies, me included with my twins, just amazing!

Oh, Beth, how wonderful! I love that you're eating and drinking again -- it must feel so good. And looking at that beautiful little girl must feel infinitely better still.
I love that picture -- perspective indeed!

Yeah! She is so beautiful. And yeah for chocolate cake! My little 10 week old girl is strawberry blonde too! Must come from her daddy's grandmother! So Sweet!! I am looking forward to reading all about your birth story and all of your adventures in mommyhood. Congratulations again.

She's so sweet looking! Love the picture. I'm suffering through the 2ww and can't even begin to imagine what the last 10 months have been for you. You're an inspiration. Glad things are going better now!

Congratulations!
I'm just about to dig out my IVF stuff for cycle #3 and I hope I get to take a picture like that after!
And how great it must be to eat again. I can't even imagine how good food must taste to you right about now.

I thought the chocolate cake with icing 20 minutes after deliver sounded wonderful, the most wonderful... until I saw that picture.
She is truly a beautiful baby Beth and himself is right to name the picture "perspective" because it all becomes suddenly clear doesn't it.
Can't wait to hear the birth and the residual emotional effects of HG (which I hope are not to severe!)

She is beautiful. I look forward to a photo like that one day. Hopefully in about 8 and a half months!
So glad to hear you're eating again!

Since I couldn't help you feel less sick, I was happy to help you complete your montage and post it for you. Your journey was an amazing one and that was the perfect way to encapsulate it!
I love this picture, you guys are so clever. I can't believe it took all that stuff to make that sweet centerpiece.
I think the strawberry blonde hair came from me. Maybe some my hairdye leached into your lactated ringers :)

Oops, the last comment was from me. I use the "not me" screename to post on celebrity babies when I'm saying something catty about Britney.

She's so lovely, and it is truly delightful to read about your enjoyment of food again.
FWIW, I think it would be downright weird if you *didn't* have some emotional residue from the HG nightmare. Be gentle with yourself as you work through it, OK?

Welcome to being HG-free!
Many of us find we put on a lot of weight after baby, because food is sooo godd and our bodies are in starvation recovery mode; you will hold onto calories for dear life for awhile.
As for after-effects of HG, I can sympathize. My anger is only now catching up to me, 7 months later. But being angry is way better than HG'ing.
Don't forget to do a birth announcement over at HER!
(By the way, she is stunningly beautiful.)

What a beautiful end result. Thanks for posting that. I'm in the homestretch of my pregnancy after the infertility, miscarriages, and a really rough 26 weeks so far. This remnder of what I have waiting for me at the end of the journey could not have come at a better time. You made a beautiful baby.

She is so gorgeous! That picture will be extra proof someday of how much she was wanted. I am glad to hear that your appetite is back, I hope that himself is taking care of all of the cravings you missed out on for the last 9 months.
