Am I A Glutton for Punishment or What?
As of my last post, I was originally offered an induction at 37 weeks with an amnio to check for a lung maturity. Then it was a Valentine's Day induction at 39 weeks. Somehow between receiving that offer and the next appointment at 37 weeks I freaked and turned down next weeks induction offer. So I wait and I puke.
Dr. Holy Shit, He's Hot as Hell was on today and he took pity on me when he walked into the exam room and saw my green countenance. He sat down, took my hands into his own and asked me why in the world had I changed my mind on the induction at 39 weeks. Then he said, "I don't even need to ask do I?" I gave him a half-assed smile and said, "You know I feel like I've come out on the bad end of statistics one time too many and I just can't tempt fate by trying to force her out early. With my luck it could all go to hell." He nodded sagely and inquired, "What about 40 weeks? Say we draw a line in the sand and we shoot for your due date?"
That I could live with. I will have a baby in 13 days or less - assuming it doesn't all go tits up in the end.
Holy Shit. I can do anything for 13 days - even HG for 13 days. I'm buckling in for the last bit of this ride...I couldn't have done it without your support.
I can't wait to see her face...and awaken without the room spinning from nausea.

Wow! That's amazing.
I was wondering, how long does it take after birth for the HG to go away?

Yeah, how long does it take to go away? I know with GD mine started to go away on it's own a bit even before delivery and I was fine right afterwards. I sure hope it's the same for you. It's almost over girlie!!!!!!

I'm excited to read your post! 13 more days. I wish you the best!

Oh, what do you mean you can do anything for 13 days? You have done it for 9 freaking days already, you are a warrior. I think you can do anything period.
I too wondered if the HG would bug off immediately. I so hope so.

Dear Beth, 13 days or less sounds amazing. The prize is in sight!!

Wow 13 days - you can do this!! I hope the HG ceases immediately so you can enjoy your little girl.

Beth, you are such a trooper. I really admire you. Good luck making it through the next couple of weeks. Best wishes for a safe, natural, uneventful delivery and an early happy birthday to Leah.
(Oh, and please tell the HG not to let the door hit it on it's arse on the way out.)

Wow, you've come so far! You can totally do this, Beth! I am just so happy for you and can't wait for you to hold your sweet child.
I think I would have done the same thing. But I'll still cross my fingers that your water breaks and you go into labor on your own!

I have been a lurker for quite a while, watching your ups and downs. I can't believe that the end is now in sight! I am so excited for you!! She will be here before you know it!

I'll tell you what you are -- you're fucking TOUGH, girl.

Yes, you are a sucker for punishment ;) BUT I understand where you are coming from with tempting fate. You've gotten this far, you will make it! I can't wait to see LC's pictures!

You are amazing and strong! You're in the home stretch now . . . best of luck! We can't wait to meet her as well!

Yesterday when I received your txt msg, I was under the impression that it was your MD's decision to wait. I didn't know that you had made that decision. It is definately better to err on the safe side. Only 13 days, that is not too much longer...
It would be awesome if you went into labor on your own before that.
I will be glad when you have her so that you can feel better and hold her in your arms.

You can definitely do it - you've come this far and you'll make it 13 (now 12) more days. I've heard HG goes away either immediately or within a couple of days - is that accurate? I hope you will feel FANTASTIC, both from producing your beautiful little gal and from casting off the HG!
Yay!

Bless your heart. I hope she decides to arrive on her own before the 40-week mark, though I know the way the stats have been playing you so far, the odds aren't necessarily in your favor. Hang in there.

Wow, I am so excited for you. Getting this far was no easy feat, but you are almost there! Hang in there. :-)

Beth, you are an "overachiever" and I envy your strength.
Can't wait to see photos of you both in about 13 days!

Oh, she'll be here so soon!

I cannot wait to read the post about how wonderful your beautiful girl is, and how much you're enjoying food again. Holding on for that glorious day -- it's coming soon!

I can understand your reasoning but glad that your not going to let it go past 40 weeks. I was thinking of you and trying to imagine how amazing it will be for you to actually feel good. I bet the tiredness won't even hit your radar after what you've been through the last 9 months. Don't mind me if I refresh your blog 10 times a day over the next 13 days. I can't wait to see some baby pictures and hopefully one of you with a flesh colored face and big ass smile.
